A Message from the President of the Morrison PTA
Welcome to our 2009-2010 school year. Our PTA is focusing on school beautification. Please look at the mural painted on the 20 wing, near the flagpole located at the front of our school. This was made possible from the funds raised by you, which came from the end of the year fundraiser. Thanks for all of your help. We are having our fall fundraiser and the funds are earmarked for a larger mural showcasing our successes and hard work along with our many achievements.
Events during the first trimester:
1. Morrison's PTA Membership drive with Pizza party for top selling classes.
2. Cheesecake Fundraiser with prizes.
3. Red Ribbon Week filled with activities and ending with Red Ribbon Recess.
4. PTA along with Reading is Fundamental will be giving out a book to each student at Morrison.
5. Mr. Freck will chair the Reflections Program.
6. Chuck E. Cheese Night, a fun night for all the Morrison families and friends to enjoy dinner and games.
Questions have been asked about where the PTA Membership is spent and how does the PTA use the funds earned from our fundraisers. The PTA stand for Parent Teacher Association. Standard Membership is $5.00, this year we added the Silver Membership $10.00, Gold Membership $25.00 and Platinum Membership is $50.00. Of your membership dues, $3.60 supports the State and National PTAs and the remainder supports Morrison's PTA. Your support is needed. This will enable us to continue the support to our students with different programs and activities such as:
School Beautification, Library books, field trips, programs and assemblies, just to name a few. Your joining and support affects the student body at Morrison. Thank you for all of your support.
Morrison will be participating in the Reflections Program. Mr. Freck will chair this program. It is a National PTA Arts and Music program that runs from October through November. Mr. Freck will be sending a flyer to each teacher and all are welcome to participate. We look forward to judging each entry.
